Phyllis Jean (Spurlock) White, from Danville, WV, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the age of 85, after a very courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Phyllis was born January 2, 1939, in the little hollow of Rock Creek in Raleigh Co., WV.
Phyllis was preceded in death by many family and friends whom she is now reunited with in Heaven, mainly the love of her life, Warnie E. White and her beautiful daughter, Rhonda. Phyllis did not like to brag about things she did in life with a couple of exceptions, her children and grandchildren, whom she loved with her whole heart, and that she was a breast cancer survivor.
Those left to cherish the memory of Phyllis are her sons, Warnie G. White of Danville, WV (Terri Cox of South Charleston, WV) and Curt White of Logan, WV. Her grandchildren, Quentin Hager of Six Mile, WV, Daniel Lewis of Chapmanville, WV, Nathan White of Logan, WV, her great granddaughter, Leia Reese of St. Albans, WV, her great grandson, Owen Ferrell of Harts, WV. Frances Hall of Wharton, WV and a very special niece, whom she loved just like a daughter, Robin (Kevin) Brickell, of Dobson, NC.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, WV on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 1:00-2:00pm with a brief service to follow with Pastor Timothy Bleigh officiating. Burial to follow at Danville Memorial Park, Danville, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations be made in memory of Phyllis White, to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
