
Steven Foster Hoffman, 72, of South Charleston, WV passed away peacefully at home in the care of his loving family on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Steve was a graduate of George Washington High School in Charleston, WV. He was a retired UMWA coal miner, with 20 years of service. He worked as a fire boss and mine foreman. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, telling jokes, and being a grandfather. He loved going on adventures and spent the last year checking things off his bucket list and making memories with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Freda Hoffman, as well as siblings, Norman Hoffman, Kenny Hoffman, Joyce Sanders, and Linda Smith.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ella Hoffman; children, Steven Hoffman II, Shannon Hoffman, and Christina Burns (Ryan); 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Connie Hawkins of Clarksburg and Carol Dudley of Hurricane; and many other beloved family members and friends.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 1:00pm, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek, WV with Susan Nelson officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston, WV.

It’s a privilege to of known such a fine person. Steve was a blessing to all who knew him. A heart of gold and a sense of humor that no one could match. He was such a kind loving person and he will be missed.
