Heaven gained another angel when our sweet Violet passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on September 23, 2024.
Violet Evelyn Dawson was born to Thomas Roy and Malinda L. Cobb Dawson
in Sissonville, WV. Though many challenges faced her even in childhood, none would dim her beautiful smile.
She attended Shawnee Hills where she met the love of her life, Bob Ballard. They soon built a life together and God blessed them with nearly fifty years together.
In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert “Bobby” Lee Mullins, George Melvin Dawson, and Thomas Edward Dawson; her mother-in-law, Betty Joyce Nixon and sister-in-law, Rebecca Lynn Carter.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving life partner, Robert “Bob” Ballard, of Dunbar, WV; her brother, Johnny Wayne Dawson and his wife Betsy of Elkview, WV; her sister-in-law, Nancy Kuhn and her husband Roger of Alum Creek, WV; brother-in-law, Richard Ballard and his wife Cynthia of St. Albans, WV; her nieces, Jasmine Dawson Winnestaffer, Melissa Ann Eskew and her husband Mike; her nephews, Jonathan “Little Johnny” Dawson, Danzir Chance Carr, Jonathan Lee Allen, Patrick Andrew Allen and Jennifer Ball, and Brian Howard Stuck; and many great nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside funeral at 1:00pm, Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Clark Cemetery, Kellys Creek with her nephew, Reverend Johnny Dawson officiating. Violet will be laid to rest beside family and friends in Clark Cemetery, Kellys Creek, WV.
I have fond memories of having holiday dinners with Violet and family. She was so sweet and always smiling. Her kindness always shined through.
Those were such special memories with Johnny, Tommy, George, Violet and Bob all gathered around our table with us. I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything! Thank you for sharing your memory. Those were good years! God blessed us greatly!
