In Loving Memory of Pamela Jean
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a truly remarkable woman, Pamela Jean Hicks (nee Johnson), who departed this world on October 23, 2023. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Pam was born on March 8, 1947 in Madison, Wisconsin, the eldest of Ruth and Rollie Johnson’s four children. She graduated from Lafollette High School in 1965 and attended the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin when she met the love of her life, Bill Hicks. She and Bill married on April 27, 1968, and they built a life together. Pam had a 30+ year career at the Public Service Commission of West Virginia, where she recalled meeting many friends.
Pamela is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bill Hicks, as well as her children, Billy (Cindy) Hicks Jr, of Cross Lanes, WV; Chris (Michele) Hicks of Houston, TX; and Ashley (Sean) Noland of Fremont, CA. She was proud of her beautiful grandchildren: Sydney, Kiera, Knox, and Annika. She will be remembered dearly by her brother, Bill (Lisa) Johnson of Cottage Grove, WI, and sisters: Peggy (Jim) Reisen of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Julie (Chuck) Curran of Cottage Grove, WI. Pam was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Roland and Ruth Johnson.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2023, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Jordan Casto officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a cause important to you on behalf of Pam. May we celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman, cherishing the countless moments of love and grace she shared with us.
