Larry Charles Adkins, 80, of Alkol went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 9, 2023, after suffering a stroke. He was a member of Left Fork Church and a faithful follower of Jesus.

Those left to cherish all his special memories and front porch meetings are his wife, Linda White Adkins, of Alkol, WV; children, Dawn (Virgil) White of Alkol, WV, Fawn (Robert) Ellis of Alkol, WV, and Shawn (Mary) Adkins of Alkol, WV.

Charles had six grandchildren, Kasey (Aaron) Bailey, Tyler (Caleb) Shelton, Haylie (Corey) Thompson, Maggie Ellis, Elijah (Shelby) Adkins, Paislee Adkins; and he had six great grandchildren, Preston and Sawyer Thompson, Sophie White, Winslow, Ellison, and Sullivan Bailey.

He had a brother, Dwight Adkins who also enjoyed those front porch meetings and many other nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel and Frank Adkins; sister, Brenda Adkins; brother, Delain Adkins; and infant daughter, Rebecca Fawn Adkins.

He was a school bus driver and retired coal miner and a jack of all trades. He loved the outdoors, farming, and his animals. What he really loved most was those front porch meetings with all his grandchildren, and he loved the holler!

He will be forever missed until we meet again.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Randell Kinder officiation. Burial will be at Delain Adkins Cemetery, Alkol. Friends and family will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you spend the day with your loved ones or maybe a special front porch meeting.

The family would like to thank all the medical teams & friends made in the waiting area and all who whispered a prayer for our Daddy.
