Margaret Jane “Peggy” Alford, 90, of South Charleston, born August 27, 1931, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Peggy was a member of Alum Creek Church of the Nazarene. She was the owner/operator of Alum Creek Beauty Shop for 40 yrs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George H. Sr. and Mellissa J. Winters Stafford; husband, Elvin S. Alford, Jr.; twin sister, Lissie Egnor; brother, George “Sonny” Stafford, Jr.; three grandsons, Jeremy, Marc, and Michael.
Peggy is survived by daughters, Karen Sparkes of South Charleston and Margie (Robert) Childress of North Carolina; sons, David Alford of South Charleston and Terry (Tereasa) Alford of Sod; sister, Candy (Bob) Good; 8 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and numerous great great and great great great grandchildren.
Service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at Curry Funeral Home with Pastors David Mitchell & Ruth Ann DeLong officiating. Entombment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
