David Meryl Reed, 70, of St. Albans, WV, died Thursday, September 30, 2021, at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston after a two-week battle with Covid-19.

Dave was born July 18, 1951, in Batesville, Indiana, son of Lonzo and Clara (Hansen) Reed. He was the firstborn of 14 children. He graduated in 1969 from Sunman High School.

He worked at Campbell Hausfeld in Harrison, Ohio, for many years and ran his own business, T & R Compressors in Brookville, Indiana. Dave often used the flea markets to show and sell his merchandise.

Dave had numerous vending locations, but the last location before he retired was in Milton, West Virginia. This is the state where he met the love of his life, Paulette, and they were married 33 glorious years.

Dave lived his life for the Lord and was full of joy. He was a caregiver to many and never met a stranger. Dave would tell you he was blessed with 6 children of his own and doubly blessed for the 6 children he got when he married Paulette.

His greatest enjoyment was spending time with all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was treasured by everyone whose path he crossed and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Dawn and Darlene, and brothers Don and Darrell.

Dave is survived by his loving spouse, Paulette (Pauley) Reed; children Tabitha (John) Thompson, Mike (Jennifer) Reed, and Theresa (Greg) Baker all of

I don’t know what everyone will do with out you Dave. When someone needed something you were always the first one there. Everyone knew they could always count on you. I never heard you say ‘no’ to anyone, it didn’t matter what it was.
God knew that…..
He watched as you put everyones needs above your own…..
He watched as you sacrificed every minute of your time helping someone else…..
He watched as pain shot all over your body and you would hide it while you were smiling and picking up one of your grandchildren…..
He watched you get out of bed early in the mornings even though you were miserable with pain and could barely stand, because someone you loved needed you….. and you never complained about it….
You wouldn’t stop Dave, so unfortunately for us God had to intervene.
No more pain, tears, or sorrow. Only happiness for you in Heaven…
I pray everyday that you knew how much the whole family loved and appreciated you and the love you had for each and every one of us. Thank you. We were so lucky to have you in our lives. Life on earth is but a blink,, now you are where you belong, not
As you would say….We will forever miss and love you,,
MY FRIEND.
