Ritchie Robert Cooper, 49, of Nitro, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
Ritchie was a 1989 graduate of Duval High School and a former juvenile correction officer with the State of WV at Robert L. Shell Juvenile Center. Ritchie loved the outdoors and camping.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Narci Cooper and great nephew, Caleb Skeenes.
Ritchie is survived by fiancé, Shelly George; daughter, Jordan Cooper; father; Bernard Cooper; sisters, Lynda (Ken) Lawrence and Elizabeth Turner; brothers, Alan (Rita) Cooper and Bruce (Linda) Cooper; nieces and nephews, Nikki Hughes, Chelsie Shaffer, Zach Cooper, and Blake Cooper; great nieces and nephews, Olivia Hughes, Jalen Chanel, and Tylin Turner.
A private service has been scheduled. Ritchie will be laid to rest at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, WV.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Transplant House of Cleveland, 2029 E 115th Street, Cleveland OH, 44106.

So sorry to hear of Ritchie’s passing….he was a great guy that I have known since high school. Prayers for his family and loved ones at this time.
