Troy Randall Burford, 52, our beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at home.

He was a 1986 graduate of George Washington High School and a graduate of West Virginia State College. Troy’s most-loved possession was his ‘69 Camaro that he has owned since he was 17 years old.  He was also was an amazing golfer. A close friend, Calvin Daniels, would often tell Troy if he ever joined the PGA tour, Calvin would be his caddy.

Troy loved his family more than anything.  His kids and grandbabies were his whole heart.

Troy had a sense of humor that would make you belly laugh and his commentary in any situation was quick and witty. So, please cry happy tears for Troy. Think of a comment he would say to make you laugh.

I’m sadden by the loss of such a great person. Troy and I went all the way through school together, from start to finish. We even grew up living just a stones throw apart and played together as young kids. We were best friends In high School because he was always so genuine and kind. Never judged a single person and boy did we all have a lot of laughs. I will cherish our memories together. We drifted a part as most of us have but when we saw each other out we always took the time to speak and ever chat if we had the time. He was always just the same as he was back in the day, happy and always had the smile. God bless his family and may you rest high on the mountain my friend. Fly high Troy and keep watch over all of us…

Troy and I went to Kenna, JAJH, and GWHS together and I haven’t seen him since our graduation BUT Troy, and people like him, stick with you over the years because they stand out in the most positive ways. He always had a ready smile in combination with those bright eyes and was kind to EVERYONE! When I moved to attend Kenna in the fourth grade, Troy was the first kid to come over and introduce himself and help me in my transition. He was a wonderful person and I am so devastated by his passing! That smile and his car – who could forget. Of course, there was that smile and eyes behind the wheel of that ’69 Camaro – I now know that to be a devilish grin of confidence! I am so sorry for your loss – it’s the world’s loss!

My condolences to Troy’s family and friends. Troy will be missed. I got the privilege of knowing Troy for our entire career. Troy was an outstanding technician and could be counted on to do anything. I got to do a ride along with Troy a couple years ago. We laughed so much that day plus he taught me stuff about a techs job I will never forget. Fly high Troy. Until we meet again.

Troy was such a wonderful and funny friend. Things happen as we grow older and start living our own lives and lose touch. I’m so thankful to have gotten to see him a couple of times in recent years because of my niece and Haley. So easy to talk to – it was like our friendship hadn’t missed a beat. I’ll always cherish my memories of him. Will miss you my friend!

My most sincere condolences go to Troy’s family. I am without words of this news. I haven’t seen or talked to Troy in a couple of years unfortunately. He was a helpful and good coworker at Bell Atlantic when I got my start in the BASSC. Fly high brother! You will not be forgotten!

Troy will surely be missed. He would do anything to help out anyone. He was one you could count on to work overtime if he possible could. Troy always had a smile on his face. I saw him a couple months ago he was upbeat, laughing and talking about Jake and his sports. Hard to believe you are gone. Fly high Troy.
