John “Glen” Pauley

John “Glen” Pauley, 76, of Alkol, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

He was born on July 6, 1934, to the late Brady and Gladys Pauley. In addition to his parents, Glen was also preceded in death by his brothers Ray, Freeman, and Max Pauley and also sister, Jacqueline.

Glen was a Christian and a proud veteran of the US Army. He was a heavy equipment mechanic at various strip mines and retired from S&S Transport. He was dedicated to his family and proud of his boys. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his “projects” and lived life to the fullest.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Betty; Siblings, Robert “Bobby” Pauley of Danville, Rexel Pauley of Julian, Josephine Smith of Julian; Sons,  John (Ann) Pauley of Alkol, Charles “Chuck” (Carolyn) Pauley of Yawkey, Davy (Denise) Pauley of Sumerco, Mike (Terri) Pauley of Alkol; Grandchildren,  Ashlie (Chris) Pinson of Alkol, Charlie (Jennifer, fiancé) Pauley, Matthew Pauley, Chantel and Kaylee Pauley, Dylan and Lauren Pauley; Great Grandchildren,  Brody and Bradyn Pinson and a great granddaughter on the way.

Services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Curry Funeral Home Chapel, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Robert McCallister officiating. Burial will be at Lively Cemetery, Sod. Family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Curry Funeral Home.

Glen will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
