October 5th, 2019 | Posted by curryfuneralhome in Obituaries

Sylvia Margo Miller, 69, of Sumerco, WV, went home to be with her Lord Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Hubbard Hospice House West in South Charleston.

She was a Certified Medical Assistant, last working at Living Well Medical Center in Charleston.

Margo served tirelessly alongside her husband, Jackie, in ministry over the years most recently at the New Covenant Baptist Church in Alum Creek. She was totally selfless, as she was always providing for others, always quick to be a friend, and sharing an encouraging hug.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jackie Alan Miller; parents, Thomas W. and Evelyn Brogan Armstrong; Earl and Nola Loftis, who helped raise her; sisters, Wilhelmina Young, Glenna Lanham, and Janet McClure; and brother, Dennis Madden.

Margo is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, Jackie; daughters, Laura (Eric) Akers and Teresa (Danny) Hughes; adopted grandchildren, Grace, Colten and Christopher “Ty”; grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth and Christian; brothers, Laurence K. (Cindy) and Thomas Wayne (Ina), and Donald “D.A.” (Becky) Armstrong.

Service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, at the New Covenant Baptist Church, 527 Midway Road, Alum Creek, with Pastors Dwight McClure and Steve Rhinehart officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. at the church.

Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Miller Family Cemetery in Sumerco.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The New Covenant Baptist Church for The Old Path’s Youth Camp (a favorite of Margo’s).

Sorry for your loss. Margo will always be remembered of her beautiful smile and the love she had for GOD. I know She and mommy (Zola) are having a good time in heaven. Mommy loved to hear her sing. I will always remember the fun times we had at Eli church and walking from church on Eli road. Praying for you Jackie and the family

Margo was a one of a kind woman. She was a kind hearted, Loving, Caring, sweet, sincere, honest person. She never met a stranger. I remember her as a small child and all the way growning up. Never heard her say a bad word about anyone. She always thought about everyone else before hersellf. Life is going to be hard for everyone without her. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel. God bless you all!!
