SEWELL MACK MCCORMICK, 72 OF CHARLESTON, DIED FRIDAY, AUGUST 20, 1993 AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS.

HE WAS A RETIRED SECURITY SUPERVISOR FROM UNION CARBIDE WITH 39 YEARS SERVICE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE CROSS LANES BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE HE WAS A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, A DEACON AND HEAD USHER. HE WAS WWII ARMY VETERAN. HE WAS A MEMBER OF GRIFFITHSVILLE AFAM #71 LODGE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE SCOTTISH RITE BODIES OF CHARLESTON, A MEMBER OF THE BENI KEDUM SHRINE AND A 50 YEAR MEMBER OF KING OF PYTHIAS LODGE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF AMERICAN SOCIETY OF INDUSTRIAL SECURITY INTERNATIONAL. HE AS A MEMBER OF DUNBAR SENIORS BOWLING LEAGUE AND TOWN AND COUNTRY VIP AND WEDNESDAY SENIORS LEAGUE VICE PRESIDENT OF KANAWHA VALLEY BOWLING ASSOCIATION.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE: MARY FRANCES; 2 SONS: SEWELL (NICK) MCCORMICK, JR. OF CHARLESTON, WV; MARK MCCORMICK OF CROSS LANES, WV; 2 DAUGHTERS: PAT SHUMATE OF BECKELY, WV; DORIS MCCORMICK OF BARBOURSVILLE, WV; 2 SISTERS: ANNA M. RAY OF CHARLESTON, WV; PHYLLIS LOFTIS OF SOD, WV; 3 GRANDCHILDREN: JOSH, WHITNEY, DANIEL.

SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CROSS LANES BAPTIST CHURCH, CROSS LANES, ON MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 1993 AT 11:00 AM WITH REV. U.G. WOLF AND REV. DAVID SMITH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN TYLER MOUNTAIN MEMORY GARDENS, CROSS LANES, WV. FRIENDS MAY CALL FROM 5:00 PM TO 9:00 PM AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 22, 1993.
