RUSSELL LAKIN NIDA, 70, OF ALUM CREEK, DIED FRIDAY, APRIL 9, 1993, AT CAMC MEMORIAL DIVISION AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS.

HE WAS RETIRED FROM UNION CARBIDE WITH 23 YEARS SERVICE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF PARK AVENUE CHURCH OF CHRIST, CHARLESTON, WV. HE WAS A WWII ARMY VETERAN. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS OF WORLD WAR II. HE WAS AN AVID HORSEMAN. MEMBER OF ELK RIVER BOOTS & SADDLE CLUB, AFFILIATED WITH THE MOUNTAINEER CLASSIC HORSE SHOW.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, HILDA CALDWELL NIDA; 1 DAUGHTER: ANNA L. NIDA OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 1 BROTHER: LENARD MASON NIDA OF BARBOURSVILLE, WV; 3 SISTERS: FAY DILLON OF HUNTINGTON, WV; PAULINE KIRK OF HUNTINGTON, Y7V; RUTH MEDDINGS OF OVERLAND PARK, KS.

SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, SUNDAY, APRIL 11, 1993 AT 2:00 PM WITH MINISTER STEVE FOX AND MINISTER JERRY ALDERSON OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE IN ELK HILLS MEMORIAL PARK, BIG CHIMNEY, WV. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON SATURDAY, APRIL 10, 1993, FROM 7 TO 9 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
