GENE BURDETTE WITHROW, 71, OF ST. ALBANS, DIED SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 1993 AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
HE WAS A WWII ARMY VETERAN, AND A RETIRED TRUCK DRIVER WITH SMITH TRANSFER. HE WAS A FORMER CONSTABLE FOR LINCOLN COUNTY AND A MEMBER OF TEAMSTERS UNION LOCAL 175.
HE IS SURVIVED HIS WIFE, JOSEPHINE; 5 DAUGHTERS: BRENDA HUMPHREYS OF ST. ALBANS; SUSAN MOORE OF CONGRESS, ARIZONA; MARY LOU GILLENWATER OF SUMERCO, WV; JANE THOMAS OF ST. ALBANS, WV; LINDA WHITEHEAD OF ST. AUGUSTINE, FL; 2 SONS: ALLEN CONLEY OF ST. ALBANS, WV; JAMES WITHROW OF ST. ALBANS, WV; 1 SISTER: MAXINE EARL OF HUNTINGTON, WV; 21 GRANDCHILDREN 5 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME ON MONDAY, MARCH 1, 1993 AT 11:00 AM WITH PASTOR FRANK CHAPMAN OFFICIATING. BURIAL HELD IN FORKS OF COAL CEMETERY. FRIENDS MAY SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 1993 FROM 3 TO 6 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
