CARL SMITH, 73, OF ST. ALBANS, DIED WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 1993 AT THOMAS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AFTER A SHORT ILLNESS.
HE WAS A RETIRED SERGEANT FIRST CLASS ARMY VETERAN WITH 21 YEARS SERVICE AND SERVED DURING WWII, KOREAN CONFLICT, AND VIETNAM. HE WAS A RETIRED MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR AT THE WV REHABILITATION CENTER AT INSTITUTE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE NITRO MOOSE LODGE.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, FREEDA HARVEY SMITH; 1 DAUGHTER: DEBBIE MAYNARD OF CHESTERTON, IN; 1 SON: CARL SMITH, JR. OF TORNADO, WV; 2 STEPDAUGHTERS: MARLENE HEDRICK OF ST. ALBANS, WV; ROSEMARY WAYMAN OF FT. WORTH, TX; 1 STEPSON: EDMOND GIBBON OF PORTAGE, IN; 1 SISTER: DOROTHY MEADOWS OF BECKLEY, WV; 4 BROTHERS: JAMES SMITH OF AKRON, OH; BILL SMITH OF GRAFTON, OH; BUD SMITH OF ROCKVILLE, MD; CARROLL SMITH OF FAIRFAX, VA; 10 GRANDCHILDREN; 7 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 1993 AT 2:00 PM WITH REV. DICK NEWMAN OFFICIATING. BURIAL HELD IN MIDKIFF CEMETERY, SUMERCO, WV. FRIENDS MAY CALL 7 TO 9 PM FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 1993 AT THE FUNERAL HOME. CURRY FUNERAL HOME IN CARE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
