WOODROW MILLER, 81, OF ALKOL DIED SUNDAY, JUNE 23, 1996 AT BOONE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IN MADISON AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE SYCAMORE GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH, A WWII NAVY VETERAN, A RETIRED COAL MINER AND A MEMBER OF THE UMWA. HE WAS A FORMER CITY BUS DRIVER FOR CHARLESTON AND A CAB DRIVER FOR YELLOW CAB CO. IN CHARLESTON, AND HE WAS THE OWNER AND OPERATOR OF THE MILLER CUSTARD STAND IN WOODVILLE.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, BETTY; 3 SONS: HAROLD MILLER OF MADISON, WV; LARRY D. MILLER OF S0. POINT, OH; KELLY C. MILLER OF CROSS LANES, WV; 2 DAUGHTERS: SHERRY RUNYON OF ALKOL, WV; CATHI DAMS OF CHARLESTON, WV; 1 SISTER: DIXIE STONE OF MINERAL WELLS, WV; 7 GRANDCHILDREN; 3 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 26, 1996 AT 2:00 PM WITH REV. KELLY MILLER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN SPRING HILL CEMETERY, CHARLESTON. FRIENDS MAY CALL ON TUESDAY, JUNE 25, 1996 FROM 7 TO 9 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
