BERTHA A. HOLSTEIN, 78, OF ALUM CREEK DIED MONDAY, MARCH 4, 1996 AT ST. FRANCIS HOSPITAL IN CHARLESTON AFTER A LONG ILLNESS.
SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE SPRING FORK BAPTIST CHURCH AND A HOMEMAKER.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, WILLIAM S. HOLSTEIN; 7 DAUGHTERS: OZEAN BARKER OF EMMONS; ARLENE DUNLAP OF ALUM CREEK; LINDA HUNT OF ALUM CREEK; SHARON WENTZ OF DAVIS CREEK; FRANCES MATHENA OF CHARLESTON; MARYLIN GILLISPIE OF BECKLEY; CONNIE GILLISPIE OF CHARLESTON; 4 SONS: WILLIAM S. HOLSTEIN, JR. OF EMMONS; JOHN H. HOLSTEIN OF OF SO. CHARLESTON; ALTON HOLSTEIN OF EMMONS; MICHAEL HOLSTEIN OF EMMONS; 5 SISTERS: CONNISSIE BARKER OF OLCOTT; ELLEN HOLSTEIN OF DANVILLE; IDA ESTEP OF NELLIS; BEULAH ESKEW OF ALUM CREEK; RUBY ALICE CANTLEY OF BROUNLAND; 2 BROTHERS: RONALD HOLSTENE OF EMMONS; JAMES HOLSTENE OF NELLIS; 25 GRANDCHILDREN AND 17 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CURRY FUNERAL HOME, ALUM CREEK, ON THURSDAY, MARCH 7, 1996 AT 1:00 PM WITH REV. F. A. GILES OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL BE HELD IN HOLSTEIN FAMILY CEMETERY, DARTMONT. FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE FUNERAL HOME ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6, 1996 FROM 7 TO 9 PM.
