Jewell Loree Shuff, 64, of Sumerco, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston.

She was a member of the Amy Baptist Church, Yawkey and was preceded in death by her husband Paul P. Shuff.

She is survived by her: 3 Daughters: Terri Simpson of Milton; Paula Shuff of Sumerco; Cary Harless of Griffithsville; 2 Sisters: Dorothy Evans and Faye Dillard both of Eden, Texas; 1 Brother: Oliver “Buddy” Cary of Eden, Texas; 6 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 10, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Rev. Robert S. Leadman officiating. Burial will be in the Lively Cemetery at Sod. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Saturday, November 9, 2002 at the funeral home.

Billie Dunlap, 64 of Sumerco, went to be with the Lord November 2, 2002.

He is survived by his: Wife: Betty Sons: Billy, Fredrick and Alvie; Daughters: Alice King and Belinda Smith; Mother: Fancy Dunlap; Brothers: Cline and Charles;
Sisters: Josephine Pauley and Shirley Smith; Four grandchildren and one step-grandson.

Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2002 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman and Minister Richard Runyan officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Sumerco. Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made toward the funeral services.

Julia E. Rossi, 88 of Charleston, formerly of Morgantown, died Friday, November 1, 2002 at Marie’s Personal Care Home, Charleston.

She was survived by her: Daughters: Marlene Dial of Charleston Margaret S. Zaleski of Charleston.

A graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown, on Sunday, November 3, 2002 at 1:00 PM. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, is in care of arrangements.

Mavis Marie Watts Gold

Mavis Marie Watts Gold, 79 of Sumerco, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a long illness.

In 1962 she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gold who was a CMSgt in the U.S. Air Force and is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

She was formerly employed by the U.S. Selective Service and the West Virginia Department of Health and was a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ.

She is survived by her: Son: Robert Bruce Gold of Huntington, WV; Daughter: Carolyn Elaine Jilla of Montgomery, AL; Brother: Gerald Watts of Sumerco, WV; Sister:
Marybelle McCormick of Sumerco, WV; 4 Grandchildren: Robert Franklin Daniel Gold, Jessica Marie Gold, Kaitlyn Michelle Gold, Anna Mane Jilla.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at 11:00 AM with Minister Justin Imel, Minister Louis Watts and Minister Richard Runyan officiating. Burial will be held in the A. S. Watts Family Cemetery, Sumerco. Friends may call on Friday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
