Delah M. Ferrell of Charleston went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in So. Charleston after a short illness.

She is survived by her:

21 Grandchildren 17 Known Great Grandchildren

A memorial service will be held at the Temple Baptist Church 412 2151 Street in North Charleston on Friday May 20th at 7:00 PM.

Robert Lee Estep

Robert Lee Estep 77 of Nitro went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 7, 2005 at his home after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Phillip & Allie Holstine Estep and his wife, Lula Faye.
He was an ordained minister with the Church of God and worked in road construction for Vecellio & Grogan.

Surviving are: 2 Sons &Daughters-in-law: Junior & Sissy Estep of McGraws, WV Robby &Sandy Estep of Hurricane.

6 Daughters &Sons-in-law: Gail & Ronnie Qualls of Hurricane; Shirley & Ira Lafferty of Ravencliff, WV; Joyce & Ernie Tilley of McGraws, WV; Pam & Leon Smith of Salt Rock; Linda & Ricky Carter of Bud, WV; Faye & Timmy Johnson of Hurrican.

2 Brothers &Sisters-in-law: James & Phyllis Estep of Ruth; Charles “Butch” Estep of Logan.

24 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; Extended family & friends at the “Village” and many other friends.

Service will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at the Curry Funeral Home Chapel in Alum Creek with Pastor James Cash officiating. Burial will be in the Brounland Cemetery at Alum Creek. Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Frances Marguerite Adams, 86, of Sod, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2005 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness.

She was a member of the Joe’s Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her great grandson, Nikolas Wikle; parents, James and Betty Pauley; sisters, Odessa Moore and Betty Bird; brothers, Clifford, Harold and Ralph Pauley.

She is survived by her husband: Henry Marshall Adams
Sons: Vernon and wife, Kathy of Sod Michael and wife, Linda of Hurricane
Sisters: June Dunlap and Vivian Bird of Teays Valley
Brother: Lyle Pauley of Roanoke, Virginia
Granddaughters: Wendi Adams of Hurricane; Summer Wikle and husband, Cliff of St. Albans; Kerri Mooney and husband, Kyle of Ashland, Kentucky; Marchelle and Kimberly Adams of Sod.
Great grandchildren: Jacob and Elizabeth Mooney, Zane and Carly Wikle.

Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Chester Bird officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

A special thanks goes out to Kathy, Linda and Jean for their loving caze of Mom during her illness.

Enoch Dennis Bragg

Enoch Dennis Bragg, 94, of Alum Creek, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 29, 2005 at home after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Ivy Guthrie Bragg; daughter, Christine Pauley and son, Damon Bragg; parents, James and Belle Blankenship Bragg; sisters, Annie, May, Nina and Peazl; brothers, Jim, Basil, Frank, Earl, and Carnis.

He was a retired insulator for Union Carbide South Charleston and a member of the Alum Creek Church of Christ.

He is survived by his daughters, Connie Greg Raines of Nitro, Ethel Paul Barker and Stella Cecil both of Sod, Janice Glenn Midkiff of Alum Creek; sons, Leroy Bragg of Hurricane, Zenith (Erma) Bragg of Alum Creek, Stanley (Sandy) Bragg of Yawkey and Clinton (Dorie) Bragg of Alum Creek; 34 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Alum Creek Church of Christ with Minister Richazd Runyan officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.

Cecil C. Adkins

Cecil C. Adkins, 65, of Alkol, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2005, at CAMC Memorial Hospital following complications after open heart surgery.

Cecil was born June 19, 1939, at Alkol to the late Belle and Spence Adkins. He was also preceded in death by sisters, June Meadows and Marcella Adkins. He worked for Arch Coal, Hobet No. 21, was a member of the UMWA Local No. 17, and was the owner operator of Adkins Quik Stop. He was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County, went to public schools in Lincoln County, and attended Morris Harvey College, now the University of Charleston.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Linville Adkins; brothers, Cline and wife, Reva of Hamlin, Creed and wife, Sally Jo, of Charleston; brothers-in-law, Doug Linville and wife, Teresa, and Rusty Linville and wife, Vicki; and sister-in-law, Jane Jeffers and husband, George.

Cecil was an outgoing person and known throughout the community. He had a special relationship with his co-workers at Hobet No. 21. Their prayers and concerns will always be remembered by Cecil’s family.

The service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Gene Pauley and Minister K. D. Bragg officiating. Burial will be held in Orchazd Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey.
Friends may call on from 6 to 9 PM on Tuesday, Apri126, at the funeral home.

Edward L. Breedlove

Edward L. Breedlove, 64, of Charleston, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at CAMC Memorial Division after a long illness.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Elizabeth Wilson; son, Edwazd Lowell Wilson; three brothers, Buster Walters of Charleston, Calvin D. Walters of Lavalette, Ohio, Carry Walters of Barboursville; four sisters, Betty Meades of Madison, Ellen McCallister of Hurricane, Connie of Florida, Cazol Daniels of Madison.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Apri126, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Oshel Bell officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Thurman Ray Wright

Thurman Ray Wright, 80, of Sumerco departed the family to be united with God on April 15, 2005 at home with the presence of family and friends after a long illness.

Thurman was born in Ivy Branch on June 30, 1924. The son of the late Orvil and Claza (Wagoner) Wright. In addition to his pazents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deanna Ward; three brother, Jack, Ronda and Frank; and a sister, Gladys Gladwell. He retired from Kanawha Block Company in 1962; and was a member of McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church. He was also a member of Laborers Local 1353; he was a Nary Veteran of W WII.

He is survived by Wife, Zola; daughters and husbands: Kathy and Bob Adkins of McCorkle; Marylin and Kermit Roberts of Hurricane; Eloise (Weasy) and Danny Roberts of Sumerco; Juanita and Tom Ward of Orlando, FL

Sons and wives: Darrell (Tickle) and Stephanie Wright of Sumerco; Richard and Denise Wright of Jacksboro, TN; Roger (Boo) Wright at home

Thirteen grandchildren: Bobby, Rodney, Melinda, Randy, Lora, Paula, William, Amber, Karen, Michelle, Greg, Brenton and Breann

Twelve great-grandchildren: Shantel, Dakota (Cody), Zachary, Nicholas, Steven, Melody, Adam, Kirsten, Jesse, Tyler, Brittney and Brandon.

Brother: Howard of Jacksonville, FL

Sisters: Geneva Smith of Cross Lanes; Jeri Goff of Dunbar

Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, April 18, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman and Pastor Jerry Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Midkiff Cemetery Sumerco, with Military Graveside Rites by the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768. Friends may call Sunday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home. Donna Carol Dorsey

Donna Cazol Dorsey, 47 of So Charleston died peacefully at home with her family by her side after a 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was a 1976 Graduate of G. W. High School, an employee at CAMC General Division and a member of the United Church of God in Chesapeake. Donna was preceded in death by her mother Glenna Midkiff.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years: Robert Dorsey

Norma Jean Robertson

Norma Jean Robertson, 53 of Charleston, died on Thursday, April 14, 2005. As the sun dimmed and the wind slightly blew our precious little angel took her journey home to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was preceded in death by Thelma Bessie Curtis and Norma Agnes Young.

She was loved and will be missed, we will find peace in our hearts knowing she is in heaven and made whole.

She is survived by Arthur A. Young, Arthur A. Young, II, Katherine, Heather, Robert Lee, Hope Young and Crystal.

Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 18, 2005 at Cuny Funeral Home Alum Creek with Pastor David Wall officiating. Burial will be in the Forks of Coal Memorial Pazk at Alum Creek. Friends may gather one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

Orpah Gillenwater Doyle

Orpah Gillenwater Doyle, 90, of Yawkey, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, Apri114, 2005 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston after a short illness.

She was preceded in death by her son, George Rose and great grandson, Wesley West.

She was a Christian and attended Sumerco Church of God. She was a former dietician for Central State Hospital in Indiana. She made many beautiful quilts and afghans for family and friends. She loved gardening.

Orpah is survived by her three daughters, Ann Brooks of Indianapolis, Indiana, Susan Schlegel of Clayton, Indiana, Norma Weddington of Culloden; son, James D. Rose and wife, Rebecca of Fayetteville, Georgia; brothers, Otis Gillenwater and C. W. “Billy” Gillenwater; 20 grandchildren, Mane Moody, Abbie Thompson, Lee Brooks, Ruth Grantham, Andrew Rose, Mazy Ellen Essex, Ruth Ann Morrow, Lazinda Sowder, Shirley Short, Charles Wagers, Ladora West, Billy Schlegel, Sazah, Joshua, and Rebekah Weddington, Megan, David and Logan Williams, Speedy and Jonathan Workman; 32 great grandchildren; two great grandchildren.

Service will be 3:30 PM on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at the Sumerco Church of God with Pastor Richard McCallister and Pastor Butch Loftis officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens at Yawkey. Friends may call Saturday from 4 to 6 PM at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek.
