Dear Sally Jo and other Adkins loved ones,
My name is Dan McDonald, and I was at the Public Service Commission with Creed for many years. He was a loyal, conscientious, hardworking employee and I grew to admire him a great deal. In later years, I always looked for him at public events, where, without fail, he would be manning a Lions Club refreshment trailer or ushering at one of the many concerts or performances he served. We always spoke, and commented briefly on the event or other goings-on.
His loss is great. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, but I hope you can find solace in the fact that Creed was well liked and respected for his friendliness and unwavering community spirit.
Best wishes,
Dan McDonald

Sally,
There are no words to express how sad I was to learn of the sudden passing of my Uncle Creed. I asked God to provide your Heart with Peace and Love. The last few times I saw you and Creed you were having lunch together at Wendy’s and I sat down and joined you, I will miss that. Know that I am only a phone call away. I love you……Charlotte

Dear Sally,
It was with great sadness that we learned of Creed’s passing today. I was fortunate to have met Creed through his work with the Ushers. I always was greeted with a smile and “How are you Frank” he always lit into a conversation about the days events or what the play was about and I always enjoyed his presence. So many times in the race of daily life we hear that there is not enough time to volunteer, Creed knew that we must make time to give of ourselves without pay or perks because we benefit so greatly in the people we meet and the time we invest. We at Kanawha Players will remember Creed as a kind man who gave of his time and talents to make his community a better place for us all. I’m sure words cannot comfort you enough in your loss, but please take comfort in the knowledge that many, many people will remember and miss him and are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers until a time you can bear his loss. Rest in Peace, our kind and giving friend.

Sally and Family, We are so sorry to hear about Creed. You and Creed have been great friends and neighbors to Mom and Dad over the years. As Dad was dealing with his cancer, Creed was a great comfort and friend willing to just sit and talk. Creed was always quick to help out with shoveling snow, lending tools, sharing his driveway and even helping take out the trash. He was a generous man with his time, his smile and his friendship. When we visited our kids loved seeing the deer in your yard and hearing the animal stories that Creed was always quick to tell. We all enjoyed eating the wonderful “goodies” you made for everyone. Creed will be greatly missed by all, but I know he has already joined Dad and other friends in God’s house and is enjoying renewing his eternal friendships. Praise God we will be able to be with all of them again someday too! Sally, you and your family will continue to be in our prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Creed. I loved him. He worked with my dad for more than 30 years at the Public Service Commission. I worked with him there during the summer for a few years. He was a very good friend to my family for many, many years. He loved life and loved the Lions Club. He would come to visit me at the hospital when I was in rehab after a bad car accident. We would have lunch and just talk. I’ll miss him. Prayers for Sally and the family. Love you. Betty Ann
