Larry E. “Gene” Mitchell, 62 of Sod died Saturday, September 29, 2007 at home after a short illness. Gene served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a retired boiler maker and a member of local 667.
He is survived by: 2 Sons: Larry E. Jr. & Chris Mitchell both of Hurricane; Mother: Verna Mitchell of St Albans; Brothers: Keith of St Albans; Clarence & Kenneth both of Yawkey and Jay of Hurricane
Services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Oct 2, 2007 at the Curry Funeral Home Chapel in Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman Officiating. Burial with military graveside rites by the Benny Padilla VFW Post 4768 will be in Hayzlett Cemetery at Garretts Bend. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
