Averial “Donnie” Midkiff

Averial “Donnie” Midkiff, 67, of Griffithsville, formerly of Alum Creek, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 11, 2007 at home after a long illness.

Donnie was born on May 13, 1939, was retired from Lacy”s Market and worked part-time for Enterprise. He was a member of Eden Baptist Church, Griffithsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Thelma Midkiff, first wife Glenna Midkiff, daughter Donna Dorsey, grandson Matthew Presley, brother Marvin Midkiff and nephew Johnny Midkiff.

He is survived by his wife, Drema Midkiff of Griffithsville, children and their spouses: Pam and Roger Dorsey of So. Charleston, Doug Midkiff of Barboursville, Lisa Dustin of Nitro, son-in-law, Bobby Dorsey of So. Charleston and step-daughters, Deanna Cooper and Danielle and P. J. Livingston of Griffithsville. Sisters: Joy Cook of Alum Creek, Mony Lawton of Monroe, LA., Nyleen and Paul Eversole of Duncan, OK and sister-in-law Jean Midkiff of Conover, NC. Brother in heart, Steve Pauley of Teays Valley.

Grandchildren: Michelle Dorsey, Jessica Case, Megan Dustin, Ashley Martin and step-grand-daughter Abbigail Cooper. Great-grandchildren: Chase Dorsey, Caitlin Doak, Caleb Case, Carson Case and Ashlyn Martin. Nephews: Tony Midkiff and Brian Lawton who were very special to him, Tim Midkiff and Jason Midkiff. Nieces: Jill Harless, Melissa Kinnaman, , Julie Sickmiller and Amber Eversole.

Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 14, at Curry Funeral Home Alum Creek with Rev. Rexel Cooper, Rev. Gene Sowards and Rev. Paul Eversole officiating. Burial will be at the Turley-Midkiff Cemetery at Alum Creek. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to his physician, Dr.Syam Stoll and nurse, Sarah from the Lincoln Primary Care Center. We so much appreciate his Hospice nurses, Brenda Bassett, Kim Ross, Kelly Barrett, Heidi Williamson, Rheanna and Christy for their dedicated care and concern.
