Ella Jane Bare Hess

ella-hess3 Ella Jane Bare Hess, 81, of Charleston entered into Heaven to sing with the angels Monday, September 5, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Hess; parents, Forrest and Stella Bare; brothers, Alec, John Sr., Jimmy, Teddy and Jerry Bare.

Ella was a lifelong member of Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene where she had served as Sunday School teacher, choir member, board member and many other capacities, especially singing solos that touched many hearts.   She was co-owner of Hess Roofing Co. Inc., established in 1969.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Ella is survived by her daughters, Connie (Lanny) Oxley, Kathy Armstrong,  Lori (Jan Barry) Hatfield, Jennifer Hess (fiance`, William Eads, Jr.); son, Charles Edwin (Vanessa) Hess; siblings, JoAnn Hess, Joe (Regina) Bare and Karen (Jeff) Carroll; grandchildren, Allison Plants, Emily (Austin) Boyd, Kimberly “Cabbage Head” Armstrong, Barry (Jordan) Hatfield, LeeAnn Hess, Megan Hess and Brodie Miller, her little buddy; great grandchildren, Peyton and Grant Plants and Gavin and Isabella Boyd.

Service will be 12:00 noon Friday, September 9, 2016 at Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene, with Pastors Sandy Burdette and Richard Wagoner officiating.  Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and  1 hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Davis Creek Church of the Nazarene, 102 Nazarene Drive, South Charleston, WV  25309

Oh, Mrs. Ella. How I loved coming to your home when I was a little girl. You always welcomed me with open arms (usually on a daily basis). You were definitely a very strong, loving and kind person that will truly be missed by many. Love and prayers for your family as they are going through this difficult time.
