Betty BellBetty Sue (Lanier) Bell, 60, of South charleston died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after an unexpected illness.

She was born November 2, 1955 to the late John W. Lanier, Sr. and Margaret Eloise (Knapp) Lanier.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, James D. Lanier.

She is survived by her loving husband, Freddy E. Bell II; sons, Christopher Parsons (Marcie) and Larry Parsons, Jr. (Ashley); three grandchildren, Justin, Abbey and Brier Parsons; sister, Janet Turley (Phil) of South Charleston; brothers, Daniel Lanier (Dessie) of South Charleston and John Lanier (Lori) of Charleston; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Lanier of St. Albans and Sherri (Bell) Rabel of St. Albans and a host of nieces, nephews, two great nieces, cousins and many friends.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, at Curry Funeral Home in Alum Creek with the Rev. Mike Long officiating.  Burial will follow at the Beech Hill Cemetery located at Pliny, West Virginia.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday with the service beginning  following the visitation.

Betty Sue and I were neighborhood friends. She grew up in the house behind mine. We were playmates and friends for many years.
We had just talked by Facebook within the last year and reminisced about the days and days of fun we had as youngsters!
My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends!
