Stephan CastoStephen Lee Casto, 63, of South Charleston, born on September 21, 1951 in Charleston, WV,  went home to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at CAMC General Hospital.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”.  2 Timothy 4:7.

Steve’s unwavering faith in Christ was an inspiration to anyone who knew him.  Never once in the many years of illness did he ever question why or have doubts about where he was going.  Steve was an Eagle Scout and graduated from South Charleston High School.  He retired from the WV Division of Labor with over 34 years of service.  He was a member of the Dunbar Mountain Mission Church for 12 years, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent and also on the church board.  Steve was also a member of the Gideon’s International.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary F. Casto.

Beloved husband and father, Steve leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Vicky and their children, twin daughter and son, Stephanie and Jordan to cherish his memory, as well as his special aunts, Myrtle Jean Young and her family, and Belle “Abby” Canfield; and faithful friends, Janice James, Herman Nicely and Betty and Gooley Derrick; brothers and sisters-in-law, who dearly loved him, Frank (Debby) Hicks, Bill (Pam) Hicks, Judy (Jim) Turley and Peggy Hart and their families.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm on Friday, January 23rd,  at the Dunbar Mountain Mission, 605 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV, 25064, with family visitation from 4:30-5:00 pm.   Burial service for friends and family will begin at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 24 at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston.  Following the burial, there will be a service to celebrate Steve’s life at Dunbar Mountain Mission Church in Dunbar, WV, with Pastors Ray Parsons and Phil Conn officiating.  A dinner with the family will be held after the celebration service in the Activities Building at Dunbar Mountain Mission Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a special fund set up to help cover education expenses for Stephanie and Jordan.  Donations should be payble to Vicky Casto and sent to Kelly Whitlock, c/o Huntington Banks, 900 Lee St., Charleston, WV 25301.  Donations may also be made at any Huntington Bank branch location.
