Easter RichmondEaster G. Richmond, 90, of St. Albans, WV, went home to be with the Lord on December 3, 2013. She was born in Robinson, WV, to Doliver and Clara Welch. Easter was a homemaker and a loving wife to Basil W. Richmond for 47 years. She was also an excellent seamstress for many customers whom she sewed for, for more than 50 years.

She was a loving and giving mother of two daughters: Janet Irene (Russell) Smith of Ravenswood, WV, and Clara Joy (Albert Dale) Roush of St. Albans, WV. She was a wonderful grandmother to four grandsons and one granddaughter: Doug (Kristen) Smith of Millwood, WV, Mike Smith, of Ravenswood, WV, Matt (Drema) Smith of Ravenswood, WV, David (Stephanie) Roush of Culloden, WV, and Sherry (Michael) Haynes of St. Albans, WV. She had nine great-grandchildren who adored her very much: Brandon Haynes, Kristopher Haynes, Scott Roush, Caroline Roush, Matthew Smith, Jr., Morgan Smith, Mason Smith, Jilliana Smith, Nolan Smith and one step-granddaughter, Hayley.

She is also survived by two sisters: Bernice Justice of Vinton, Ohio, and Ammie Hysell of Wilkesville, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews who have many fond memories of her. Another one of Easter’s many talents was her superb cooking, family and friends could not wait for an invitation to dinner for some of her mouth watering biscuits and homemade apple butter.

Easter was preceded in death by her husband Basil W. Richmond, sister, Gladys Molden of Salem Center, Ohio and brothers, Russell Welch of Culloden, WV, and Julian Welch of Middleport, Ohio.

The family would like to extend their deepest love and appreciation to all of the staff of Valley Center and to the very special ladies of Hospice for their excellent care and outpouring of love for our mother and the entire family. Their care and love will never be forgotten. Thank you!

Services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Highlawn Baptist Church, 2304 Jefferson Avenue, St. Albans, with Pastor Mark Stauffer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 4:00 PM at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, WV.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Boulevard, W., Charleston, WV 25387-2536.

Janet and Joy, I am so sorry that I was not able to be there. It was so very sad to hear of her passing. You have my love and prayers. It did bring good memories to mind. She was certainly a great lady who will be missed. Grateful that she is now with our Heavenly Father and I am looking forward to that Glad Reunion Day. I love you both and think of you often. With Love and Prayers, Your Cousin Joy Ealy.
