Janet Kay Childress Blake, 77, of Charleston died Friday, October 4, 2013 at home.
She worked in many homes as a care giver.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Bertha Childress; brother, Delbert “Bo” Childress; sisters, Betty Lanham and Carolyn Martin.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Henry Avender; son, Michael Blake (Evelyn) of South Charleston; daughter, Cindy Lewis (Mike) of South Charleston; sisters, Thelma Moore of South Charleston and Barbara Bowman of Alum Creek; grandchildren, Lori Cummings and Ryan Blake; great grandson, Austin Blake and great granddaughter, Ariah Flores.
A private burial was held at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston, WV 25387-2536.
Avender, we are so sorry we missed the passing of Janet. I just happened to go to Curry’s website for another obit and saw this. Prayers for the family.
