Lowell C. Pauley

Lowell C. Pauley, 84, of Sod, was called home by the Lord on Monday, January 21, 2013 at Hubbard  Hospice House West from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.

He was born in Sod on August 5, 1928 to the late Homer and Mayme Pauley and was also preceded in death by sisters Barbara McCallister and Janet McCallister, brothers Quentin, Emerson, Leo and Roger Pauley, grandaughter Erin Pauley and grandson Taylor Dunlap.

He retired form Charleston Lincoln Mercury as a body repairman, served in the Army in the combat infantry Division during the Korean War, was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and a life member of the National Rifle Assoc.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 57 years, Evetta Brogan Pauley, daughters; Drema (Kevin) Pauley, and Tammy Pauley, grandchildren; April (Clint) Craddock, Nikida (Lance) Aldridge, Shauna (Bryan) Cook and Parker Pauley, great grandchildren; Kaila, Kameron and Kaylor (due in March) Craddock, Griffin and Declan Aldridge, and Jayden Cook, and great and faithful friends his brother and sister-in-law Virgil and Sue Brogan all of Sod.

Service will be 2:00 PM Friday January 25 at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road Alum Creek with Pastors Randall “Butch” Brogan, Clint Craddock and Bub Anderson officiating. Burial with military rites conducted by the Alum Creek VFW 4768  will follow at Lively Cemetery Sod. Family and friends will gather one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank everyone at St. Francis Hospital, ICU and PCU units, for their loving care. We also thank the ones at Hubbard House West, at Thomas Memorial, for their loving care.

Sorry to hear about Lowell. I know what you have been going through, I’ve been going through the same thing.
In the midst of my sorrow, I have thought about you. Love Areta.
