James “Jim” Daniel Kelly Jr.

James Daniel Kelly, Jr., 87, of South Charleston went home Sunday, January 20, 2013 at his residence after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lear Moore Kelly and daughter, Sherri Kelly Carte.

He is survived by his wife, Areta; daughter, Brynne Kelly Wookey and husband, Rick; sister, Julia Ann Bailey; brother, William Kelly; grandchildren, P. J. Carte, Patricia Carte Futch, Mindi Richards, Elizabeth Wookey Gualario, Fallon Wookey; great grandchildren, Grant, Meredith, Parker, Griffin, Garrett, and Brody; step children, Lynn, Donna, Jeff and Jennifer; step-grandchildren, Ami, Josh, Chris, Shawn, Justin, Zach, Kelsi, Katelin and Tyler; step-great grandchildren, Kavan and Booke.

There will be a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Kanawha Hospice, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W. , Charleston, WV 25387.

Jim was a wonderful person and step-Dad. I am so glad I got to visit with him before he passed. He is loved and missed by many. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Jim was a hard worker and contributed to Airgas’ success by his work in our cryogenic bulk tank department. Condolences from the employees of Airgas.
