Bernard B. Dunlap, 69, of Ely Fork Road,, McCorkle, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, October 12, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Katherine Dunlap.
He is survived by his sister, Loleta Justice of Sumerco and brother, Charles “Bo” Dunlap of Alum Creek.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Janet Lovejoy for giving Bernard more love and care than we could have ever asked for; and also Bernard’s favorite buddy, Russell “Russ” Ashworth, for all the love and laughter he gave. We all loved Bernard and he will be dearly missed.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am Monday, October 15, 2012 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 6 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
I had thought of Bernard recently and told my kids my fond memories of him, Kat and Dennis from my childhood. He was always a gentle giant to me as a child. My Mom called me yesterday to tell me of his passing. Our prayers are with his family.
