Brenda S. Garnes, 51, of South Charleston, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012, at Hospice West, South Charleston after a long illness.
She served the community as a volunteer at Ruthlawn Elementary School for 7 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Ray Roberts.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ted, daughter, Mandy Garnes and son, Brandon Wood Garnes, her mother, Macel Roberts and two brothers, Gordon (Gretta) Roberts and Kevin (Stacy) Roberts, Aunt: Billie Means, and many other loving family members.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, May 16th from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Curry Funeral Home Chapel. There will be no other service.

I am so saddened to learn of Brenda’s death. We worked together at The Diamond and she was so much fun.
I often make her apple cake recipe that she gave me. I know you will miss her terribly but she is resting with the Lord now. I pray that your loving memories and the hand of God will give you great peace at this time and in the days ahead.
