Jesse James Smith, 16, of Sod. WV, went home to the Lord after a life long battle with Muscular Dystrophy. He was preceded in death by his father, James C. Smith, Jr. and brother, Joshua Posey. He was a Christian.
He is survived by his mother and step-father; Kathy and Eric King, brother, Michael Richie; sisters, Danielle Smith, Jamie Smith and Andrea Adkins; step-grandmother, Rosie Sergent; step-great grandmother, Catherine Dearien; uncles, John and Robert Smith; and aunt Leslie Soulchin.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm Monday October 11, 2010 at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Rev. Clinton Craddock officiating. Burial will follow at the Smith Family Cemetery at Sod. Family and friends will gather from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the funeral home for burial expenses.
