Patricia Ann Thomas Racer, 71 of Alderson, WV formerly of St. Albans went to Heaven  Saturday April 25, 2009 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Ronceverte.

She was preceded in death by her husband “Preacher” Bill Racer, parents Delmar “D. I.” and Margaret Thomas, sisters Nancy Eskew, Peggy Jenkins and brother William “Bill” Thomas.  She is survived by her two daughters, Kimberly Racer of Alderson, and Sherri (Bill) Pickens of Loundendale, brother, Richard K. Thomas of Tennessee, four grandchildren, Carey, Megan, Seth and Amber.

Service and burial will be 2:00 PM Thursday April 30, at Cunningham Memorial Park Upper Mausoleum Chapel, St. Albans with The Reverend Elizabeth A. Walker officiating. Family and friends will gather from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road Alum Creek and one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

Ruben Dotson, Jr., 72 and 9 months, of Alkol, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Dotson Sr. and Gladys Hill and his son, Kenny Dotson.

He was a member of the Griffithsville Masonic Lodge #71 AF&AM and a member of the UMWA Local #3029.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Yvonne; one son, Harold of Tyler Mountain; four brothers, Shannon (Betty) Dotson of Julian, Boyce (Diane) Dotson of Huntington; Gary (Gloria) Dotson of Louisa, Kentucky; Terry (Karen) Dotson of Tennessee; one sister, Sue (Truman) Hudson of Hernshaw; three half brothers, Darius (Connie) Hill; Fredrick Hill and Willie “Roy” Hill; one half sister, Sharon (Roger) Adkins; seven grandchildren and their spouses; 14 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastor Arthur Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey with Masonic graveside rites conducted by the Griffithsville Lodge #71 AF&AM. Friends may gather on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Anna M. Roberts, 91, of Charleston, formerly of Griffithsville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at Dunbar Care and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Roberts; son, Garland Roberts; infant daughter, Mona Doreen; parents, Norvel and Maggie Sheets; brother, Ray Sheets; sister, Lora Hughey; grandson, Gregory Max Roberts; granddaughter, Teresa Dawn Roberts.

She was a member of the Bride of Christ Baptist Church, South Charleston and was a retired cook from the Lincoln County schools.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dauvn Rheda Cantley of South Charleston and Linda R. (Rod) McClure of Matthews, North Carolina; two sons, Roger (Frances) Roberts of Nitro and Johnny (Melody) Roberts of Alum Creek; daughter-in-law, Barbara Roberts of Charleston; 13 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may gather on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
