Shirley McCallister Steele, born June 2, 1944, of St. Albans, WV entered peacefully into the presence of our Lord on Friday, August 15, 2008.

She is survived by her daughters:

7 Great Grandchildren

She will be joined with and embraced by son, Eddie Lee Myers and husband, Jack Steele.

She will be greatly missed.

Family services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the Winfree’s home in Campbells Creek, WV.

A private service will be held in Pocahontas county at a later date.

Doris Jean (Pauley) Nicholas, 71 of Fort McCoy, Florida, formerly of Sod, WV went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 14, 2008 after a short illness.

She was a homemaker and a Christian who loved serving her Lord. Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Hassell M. Pauley, her parents and 6 brothers.

She is survived by:

Husband: Gene Nicholas

Son: Gene Pauley & wife, Robin

Daughter: Sue Graley and husband,  Dwight

6 step children: Gene ll, Ronald, Danny, Teresa, Naomi & Mark.

6 grand children: Chad, Christy & Natalie Pauley, D. W. Graley & (Tonya), Joey Graley & (Michelle), Stevie Graley & (Amanda)

9 great grandchildren

6 brothers

Special kittycat “Tykie” and a host of other family & friends.

Services will be 3:00 PM on Monday, August 18, 2008 at the McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Russell Wright and Chad Pauley officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery at McCorkle.  Friends will gather 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Curry Funeral Home at Alum Creek is in care of arrangements.

Zulema D. Jaynes

Zulema D. Jaynes 89, of Griffithsville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Health Central Park, Winter Garden, Flordia after a long illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Ralph Jaynes.

She is survived by:

Daughters: Linda Jacobs and husband Leonard

Brenda Dunlap and husband Glenn

Sisters: Myrtle Alford, Georgia Dragoo and Dora Jeffery

Brother: Oscar Dragoo

Three grandsons: Adam Dunlap, Mark and Michael Jacobs,

Six great grandchildren: Kelly and Brian Jacobs, Jodie, Jordan, Joey and Josh.

Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 16, at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastors Harlan Roberts and Richard Ruby officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens Yawkey. Friends may gather 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Delcie Graley Snodgrass

Delcie Graley Snodgrass, 87, of South Charleston, formerly of St. Albans and Alum Creek, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness.

She was preceded indeath by her parents, Ezra and Sadie Graley; brothers, Earl, Everette, and Emory Graley and sister, Grace Rabel.

She was a retired minister of the Church of God and was a 10 year employee of G.C. Murphy in South Charleston.

She is survived by her husband of over 70  years, Joe; son, Lyle Snodgrass and wife Gardenia; grandson, Bucky Snodgrass; granddaughter, Deena Pauley and her husband, Robert; great granddaugther, Deanna Parsons and her husband, Mitchell; great great grandson, Isaiah Parsons, all of South Charleston; special daughter, Tara  Appler and her husband John  of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers, Ezra Graley, Jr. and Bill Graley both of St. Albans; sisters, Jenny Brown of St. Albans and Phyllis Kinzer of Tampa, Florida.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastors Jack Lawrence, Ezra Graley, Jr. and Arley Cravens.  Entombment will be held in Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston.  Friends will gather on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Delcie’s family wants to give a special thank you to all the staff at Valley Center in South Charleston for their excellent care of mom.

Myrtle Mae Hudson Moore

Myrtle Mae Hudson Moore, 90 of Charleston, born Sept. 27, 1917 died Monday August 4, 2008 at home after a long illness.

She was  preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Benjamin F. Moore. She was a homemaker and a dedicated mother.

Mrs. Moore is survived by her four children, Carol Huffman(Walter),Bob Moore, Edward Moore (Donna), Linda Giles(Freddy), and a sister Edith Stover all of Charleston.

She also leaves seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was the oldest member of the Ivydale Baptist Church, a faithful attendee and a devoted

Christian.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 7, at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Last Supper Mausoleum  with Pastor Clarence Hutton officiating.  Friends may gather 1 hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

Curry Funeral Home Alum Creek is in care of arrangements.

Robert “Bob” Pittman

Robert “Bob” Pittman, 73, of Olcott, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a sudden illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Mabel Pittman; sister, Porty Roberts and her husband, David; and brother, Denver Pittman.

He is survived by his nieces who cared for him, Cheryl Snodgrass, Patricia Gottberg, Mary Sharp and Evelyn Waldron; special great niece and nephew, Heather Fletcher and Dave Means and several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Olcott Church of God at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, with Pastor Michael Graley officiating.  Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, is in care of arrangements.

Douglas E. Sharp

Douglas E. Sharp, 51, of Brounland Road, Alum Creek went home to the Lord Saturday, August 2, 2008.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul E. and Cornelia Sharp and baby brother Paul Dean Sharp.

He had been attending the Freewill Baptist Church of Ravenswood, West Virginia. He never met a stranger. He loved people and was always willing to help anyone in need. He loved traveling, fishing and eating out, most of all he loved the Lord.

He was known and loved by all.

Doug is survived by his Fiancé, Bobby Lucas; Sister, Ramona Gibson and her husband Bill; two nephews, Wesley and Billie Gibson; three great nieces Meghan, Madison and Katie.

Several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 7, at Curry Funeral Home 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastor Rick Harless officiating. Burial will be at Forks of Coal Memorial Park, Alum Creek. Visitation will be 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
