Beverly Sue Bowman Ryan

January 18th, 2008 | Posted by curryfuneralhome in Obituaries - (0 Comments)

Beverly Sue Bowman Ryan

Beverly completed God’s earthly mission and answered His calling on January 18, 2008 after her tumultuous battle with cancer.

Beverly was born August 25, 1944 at home to Opal & Alzon Bowman in the quaint West Virginia  town of Alum Creek.  She will be missed dearly by her loving husband and high school sweetheart, Steve Ryan of Canton, MI and family.  She was a devoted and caring mother of Marc Ryan (Beth) of Linden, MI   and Stephanie Hill-Brown of Canton, MI..  Each of her children blessed MawMaw with one grandchild, John Weston and Stephan Lee.  It was evident to all that her favorite pastime was spending time with the two of them.

Beverly and Steve embarked on their lifelong journey leaving her extended family in West Virginia consisting of Carol Parsons(Fint) of N Olmstead, OH,.  JoAnn Loftis (Dean) of Alkol, WV,. Charles Bowman (Linda) of St Albans, WV, and Lillie Mae Bowman of New Orleans, LA,.  She will remain forever in the hearts of her numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Beverly’s passion for knowledge and zest for life and spirituality inspired her to attend Duval High School, WV State College, Northridge Church and whip any who dared to challenge her in Jeopardy.  Beverly is best described as a Renaissance woman, who valued the ability to reason and expressed it in her love of art and keen interest in politics.  When Beverly wasn’t attending to her flourishing flower and herb gardens, she became an accomplished painter and was very involved with athletics.  Whether she was bowling, coaching, or golfing, her times with Steve and friends on the golf course were some of the most cherished.  Being a woman of many words, it is hard to imagine that she was left speechless after she experienced her first birdie on Nov ‘06.

In our hearts, we know that Beverly would like to thank God that she had the opportunity to experience the many cherished friendships from West Virginia, Vermillion, OH, and Michigan.

May God’s peace be with Beverly and may His perpetual light shine upon her.

Services will be  11:00 AM Thursday, January 24, at the Alum Creek Independent Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating.  Burial will be in Forks of Coal Cemetery at Alum Creek.  Friends may call from 6 to 9 PM on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at the Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Rd., Alum Creek,.
