Howazd Kelly “Meathead” Stowers 56 of Garretts Bend died Wednesday, Nov 30, 2005 at CAMC Memorial Division after a short illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents C. W. “Jake” and Maycel Stowers.

Kelly was an Vietnam Army Veteran, had worked for Carbide/Greenwood for the past 30 years and had recently became a Christian.

He is survived by: Wife: Barbaza; Daughter & Fiance: Kelley Ann Stowers & Terry E. White; Grandson: Austin Kelly White; Step-son &wife: Michael & Linda Phelix; Step-Granddaughter: Heather Rucker; Brother: David Stowers; Sister &husband: Margaret Ann & Dr. Randall Cutlip.

Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Pastor Mike Kordusky officiating. Burial will be in Hayzlett Cemetery, Garretts Bend. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Helen V. Miller, 83, of West Chester, PA died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Chester County Hospital afrer a short illness.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by: Daughters: Linda Mann Brenda Kaneday; Grandson: John-Ross Kaneday.

Service 2:00 PM Friday, December 2, 200s at Cunningham Cemetery Chapel. Burial in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Beatrice Ellen Whittington Flowers, 92, of Olcott, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a short illness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Flowers; four sisters and two brothers.
She was an 80 year resident of Olcott and attended the Briar Creek Baptist Church.

James Shelton Egnor, Jr., 84, of Alkol went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Heartland of Charleston after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; grandson, CW2 Jody L. Egnor, who died in the line of duty with the U.S. Army Special Forces; brothers, Marvin and Ronald Egnor.

He was retired from West Virginia Department of Natural Resources; a veteran of W WII and Korean War; a member of Left Fork Baptist Church and the Saved By Grace gospel singing group.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-]aw, Roger J. and Margaret Ann Egnor of Middletown, OH, Jerry L. and Judy Margarett Egnor of Alum Creek; four sisters, Lena Griffith of Alkol, Mae Hicks of Dunbar, Irene Pennington of Alum Creek, Mary “Brownie” Hager of Alkol; brother, Kermit Egnor of Florida, four grandchildren, Robin Egnor, Terri Zirkle and husband, Bill, Misty and Travis Richmond, two great grandchildren, Lindsey and Taylor Zirkle.

Virginia Ruth Cash, 83, of Covington, Kentucky, formerly of Griffithsville, died Tuesday, November 22, 200s at St. Elizabeth Hospital South, Edgewood, Kentucky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Denver; parents, Emmitt and Reva Stowers, brothers, Moss and Denzil Stowers; sister, Gail McMellon.

She was retired from Lincoln County Board of Education where she worked as a cook at Griffithsville Elementary and was a lifelong member of Griffithsville Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Cash and companion, Stephanie and her children, Tim, Lorrie, Kelsey, Sean and Tayler Ferguson; daughter, Carol Vandale and husband, James of South Chazleston; brother, Jack Stowers of Alkol, four granddaughters, Kelly Varney, Tracy Arkell, Dani and Alex Cash; one grandson, James Vandale; two great grandsons, Chase and Dylan Arkell.

Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, 2097 Childress Road, Alum Creek, with Minister Murrel McKinney officiating. Burial will be in McDowell Cemetery, Garretts Bend. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Mary Alice Hess, 77, of South Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 21, 2005 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was a clerk for Atlantic Greyhound, Charleston and a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church, Alum Creek.

She is survived by her husband, George; five sisters, Eula Pauley, Ruth Duvall, Amalee Griffith, Betty Ann Pauley all of South Chazleston, Monna Jean Griest of Ripley; two brothers, Lowell Pauley of South Charleston, Elmer Pauley of Chazleston; a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, with Pastors Dwight McClure, Lloyd Humphreys, and Gene Pauley officiating. Entombment will be held in Graceland Memorial Park Mausoleum, South Charleston. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Mack, 73, of South Charleston was a retired installer for Western Electric \ AT & T with 32 years service. He also greatly enjoyed 20 years of retirement with his loving wife and was a Korean War Air Force Veteran.
