Audrey “Jack” Farrell, 76, of Alkol died Tuesday, March 28, 2000 at Kathy’s Tender Touch Nursing Home, Camp Creek, after a long illness.

He was a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal, Robinhood, a member of the Left Fork Baptist Church and a member of the UMWA.

He is survived by his: Wife: Christene; 1 Step-Son: Stanley Miller of Alkol, WV; 1 Step-Daughter: Stephanie Oxley of Raleigh, NC; 1 Sister: Marie Young of Summersville, WV.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Friday, March 31, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Randall Kinder and Rev. Jerry Graley officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Thursday, March 30, 2000 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

A private graveside service was held Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, on Friday, March 24, 2000 at 10:00 AM.

Billy Von Runyon, 65, of Yawkey died Monday, March 20, 2000 at Davis Personal Care Home, St. Albans, after a short illness.

He was a retired pipe fitter at Union Carbide with 27 years of service.

Rosie B. Harless Vickers, 90, of Sumerco died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Merritts Creek Baptist Church, Merritts Creek, and a life long resident of Lincoln County.

Services will be held a Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 21, 2000 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Donald E. Woodrum

Donald E. Woodrum, 79, of Yawkey died Friday, March 18, 2000 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a short illness.

He was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He was also a retired route salesman for Betsy Ross in Charleston, was a member of the Porter Fork Baptist Church at Yawkey where he served as Church Clerk and Deacon and he currently attended Hilltop Baptist Church in South Charleston. He was a Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768.

He is survived by his: 2 Daughters: Brenda L. Hudson of Hurricane, WV; Beverly Johnson of Yawkey, WV; 1 Brother: Jimmy Woodrum of Spring Hill, WV; 3 Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Monday, March 20, 2000 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Basil Hudson and Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768, will be held in Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey. Friends may call on Sunday, March 19, 2000 from 6 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Herbert David Miller

Herbert David Miller, 69 of San Diego, California formerly of Cameo, West Virginia died Friday, March 17, 2000 at home after a short illness.

He was a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Internal Auditor. He served as an Internal Chairman of the Board for the Institute of Internal Auditors and was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was the author of Quality Assurance Review Manual for Internal Auditing. Also, he published numerous other articles in professional journals dealing with ethics, professional standards and audit committees. He was a retired financial executive from the Ford Motor Co. in Detroit, Michigan and was also a retired general auditor from The Williams Companies in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a member of the San Diego Yacht Club, San Diego, California, the Hound Ears Club in Blowing Rock, North Carolina, and the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church. He was an Air Force veteran during the Korean War.

He is survived by his: Wife: Marjo Miller of San Diego, CA; 1 Son: Charles Miller of Raleigh, NC; 1 Daughter: Martha Kingman of Plano, TX; 1 Sister: Ruth Clark of Charleston, WV; 1 Brother: Curtis Miller of Chesapeake, OH; 2 Granddaughters: Amanda Kingman of Plano, TX; Sara Kingman of Plano, TX.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Thursday, March 23, 2000 at 10:30 AM with Dr. Rev. Matthew Covington officiating. Burial will be held in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 22, 2000 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

She was a homemaker, a member of the McCorkle Free Will Baptist Church and a life long resident of Lincoln County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Estel Smith.

She was the owner of Rollyson Motors.

Private services will be held at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, Saturday, March 11, 2000 at 11:00 AM. Family one hour prior to the service.

He was retired from Fruehauf Co. as a service manager, a member of Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sod, an Army Air Force veteran of WWII, a member of the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768 and was a life long resident of Lincoln County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Lawson.
He is survived by his: 2 Daughters: Suewanee Pauley of Sod, WV; Sandi Lawson of Sod, WV; 2 Brothers: Scotty Lawson ofBranchland, WV; Charles Lawson of Las Vegas, NV; 2 Sisters: Mae McComas of Hamlin, W V; Jennie Lawson of Rehoboth Beach, DE; 2 Grandchildren: Jamie Carson and Joel Pauley 1 Great Grandson: Cuyler Carson .

Graveside services will be held at Lively Cemetery, Sod, on Saturday, March 11, 2000 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Clarence Hutton officiating. Friends may call on Friday, March 10, 2000 from 7 to 9 PM at the Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. The Alum Creek VFW Post 4768 will be serving as honor guard on Thursday evening.
