James D. Huffman, 87, of Sumerco died Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at the home of his son, Terry Huffman after a long illness.

He was retired from the laborers local #1353 with 40 years of service, was a former employee of Dougherty Co., was a life long resident of Lincoln county, a charter member of Alkol Lions Club, a Baptist and a democrat.

He is survived by his: 2 Daughters: Agatha Pauley of Alum Creek, W V; Rosales Dinardo of Columbus, OH; 3 Sons: James Pete Huffman of Sod, WV; Jollie Huffman of Sod, WV; Terry Huffman of Sumerco, WV; 1 Brother: Charles D. Huffman of Alkol, W V; 6 Grandchildren 5 Great Grandchildren Caregiver: Janet Lovejoy of Griffithsville, WV.

Graveside services will be held at Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Yawkey, on Friday, July 2, 1999 at 7:00 AM with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. There will not be a visitation. Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, is in care of the services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, PO Box 387, Hamlin, WV 25523.

Marie Pauley, 70, of South Charleston died Sunday, June 27, 1999 at Thomas Memorial Hospital, South Charleston, after a long illness.

She was a Christian and a homemaker.

She is survived by her: 1 Daughter: Sandra Thornhill of South Charleston, WV; 1 Sister: Alma Totten of Nitro, WV; 1 Brother: Paul Brown of Nitro, WV; 1 Grandson: Christopher Lee Thornhill.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Wednesday, June 30, 1999 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Bruce Keeling officiating. Entombment will be held in Graceland Memorial Pazk Mausoleum, South Charleston. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Allen B. Kitchen 74, of Charleston, died Saturday, June 26, 1999 at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston after a long illness.

He was retired from Bethlehem Mines and United Mine Workers Local 750 with 58 years service. He was a veteran of WWII and Korean War and was a member of the Chosen Few.

He is Survived by his: Wife: Geraldine Spaulding Kitchen; 1 Son: Allen Kitchen, Jr. of Miami, WV. ; 1 Daughter: Linda Sims of Springhill, WV; 2 Grandchildren whom he raised: Tina Mandrake of Ripley, WV; Matthew Kitchen of Huntington, WV; 1 Great Grandson: Hayden Mandrake of Ripley, WV.

Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 28, 1999 at the Forks of Coal Cemetery, Alum Creek with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating. Burial will follow with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Alum Creek VFW Post 4768. There will be no visitation. Curry Funeral Home Alum Creek is in charge of arrangements.

Kelley Boyd Tackett, 88 of Sumerco, died Saturday June 26, 1999 at home after a long illness.

He was a member of Cobbs Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Sod, where he served as a deacon for several years and was retired from Libby Owens Ford Glass at Charleston.

He is survived by his: Wife: Athalene Pauley Tackett; 1 Son: Teddy Tackett of Sod, WV; 2 Daughters: Sue Kingrey of Alum Creek, W V; Judy Quintrell of Sumerco, WV;
4 Sisters: Gertie Harless of St. Albans, WV; Doris Sowards of Griffithsville, WV; Kay Hudson of South Charleston, WV; Verta McCormick of Sumerco, WV; 12 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren.

Services will be held at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek, on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Clarence Hutton and Minister Teddy Tackett, Jr. officiating. Burial will be held in the Orchard Hills Memory Gardens, Sumerco. Friends may call on Monday, June 28, 1999 from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
