HE WAS A RETIRED COAL MINER FROM THE Y&O COAL CO. AT VAN, WEST VIRGINIA AND A MEMBER OF THE UMWA. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE MCCORKLE FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH AND A LIFE LONG RESIDENT OF LINCOLN COUNTY.

HE IS SURVIVED BY: 3 DAUGHTERS: DORIS HARLESS OF SO CHARLESTON, WV; LYNDEL SHAFFER OF ST ALBANS, WV; GATHA ESTEP OF ALUM CREEK, WV;  1 SON: DENZIL TURLEY OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 1 BROTHER: CECIL TURLEY OF ALUM CREEK, WV; 15 GRANDCHILDREN; 25 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; 12 GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
